There are multiple Timberwolves’ set to be free-agents in the offseason. Let’s take a look at who will be free to sign with another team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ front office has built towards a playoff berth for a while. They have built a young team with the thought of contending for the playoffs and eventually an NBA championship.

The most notable move, of course, was the Kevin Love trade in 2014.

This trade brought top pick Andrew Wiggins, along with another former top draft pick, Anthony Bennett, to Minnesota.

The Wolves thought having two number one picks on the roster would create a young team full of talent.

Whilst their thinking may have been correct, Bennett was not the number one pick the Timberwolves were looking for.

The Wolves selected their own number one pick in the 2015 draft, Karl-Anthony Towns, and he became the centerpiece for the young team.

Whilst the Wolves’ playoff plan hasn’t yet come to fruition, a few players are set to be free-agents at the end of this season.

That will open up some roster spots at key positions, creating some opportunities for Thibodeau and co. to capitalize on making the Timberwolves’ playoff hopes a reality.

With the newly unveiled redesign of the Wolves’ logo, coupled with the upcoming change to uniforms and team image, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of fresh faces on the Wolves next year. During the offseason, I expect the Wolves’ front office to look at potential long-term targets and sign players to multi-year deals to secure the future of this young team.

However, it is possible we will see some of the following players back next year, so let me know in the comments what Wolves players you’d like to see back next season.

For now, let’s dive into the four Timberwolves’ players who are set to be free-agents in the offseason.
