These four players will open up some roster spots and create cap space for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I also would not be surprised to see Jordan Hill, who is unguaranteed for next season, be waived or traded.

The future of Nikola Pekovic is also uncertain, should his chronic ankle injuries cause further problems through the last year of his contract.

If Rubio’s recent flurry of success hasn’t convinced Thibodeau he deserves to be the Timberwolves’ starting point guard next year, he too may be traded for a veteran guard who can take the reins whilst providing support for Kris Dunn and, should he not be waived, Tyus Jones.

The Timberwolves will spend the offseason searching for players to provide support for their starters off the bench. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some more multi-team veterans, such as Casspi, to be added to the fold.

All of the players we may see leave at the conclusion of this year are bench players. One of the Wolves most consistent areas of struggle the last few years has been a lack of contribution from the bench.

With a revamped logo and team image, I expect a revamped bench to be taking the court next season.

The Timberwolves have plenty of depth, but it’s not the depth they need.

I don’t see a point guard being added to the fold unless they are replacing Rubio. Dunn and Jones have proven they can contribute off the bench, and I think Jones is one of the most efficient back-ups the Wolves have on contract.

A shooting guard will be a major priority for the Wolves, as they search to add scoring off the bench to back up LaVine.

Small forward will also be a target, as they look for depth for Wiggins.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Casspi return. We haven’t seen much of him so far, but it has been promising and his veteran presence could be exactly what the Timberwolves need.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have spent the last few years building around a promising young core to snap the 13-year playoff drought the Wolves are experiencing. Should this offseason go as planned, the playoffs could very much be in reach next year.
