Omri Casspi: C

Only playing 13 games this season for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Casspi scored 3.4 points per game and shot 48.6 percent.

3.4 points per game isn’t as low as you might think. He really didn’t get very many shot opportunities.

A few nights ago, Omri played 37 minutes against the Jazz. In this game, he only took four shots. Really, he needs to be taking more than four shots in almost 40 minutes.

This has been a strange season for Casspi. He played 22 games with the Sacramento Kings, one game with the New Orleans Pelicans, and 13 with the Timberwolves.

Casspi was added to the team to replace Nemanja Bjelica when he got hurt.

Casspi has had an all-right eight seasons in the league. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had a great career.

He’s a solid scorer, oversized small forward that can shoot the deep shot, very similar play to Nemanja Bjelica.

Casspi might not be returning to the Wolves next season. He’s a free agent this summer and if Bjelica is healthy, there really is no need for Casspi.

If the Timberwolves hold onto him, he might be able to contribute a little more if he has an entire season to adjust.

Still, 3.4 points per game over any stretch of basketball is pretty awful. Hopefully, the Timberwolves are looking at replacements or some way to switch up his ability to score.

He was thrown into this role on the Wolves and not given any time to adjust. I’m not sure if it’s a game plan issue that didn’t allow him to take a lot of shots or what. It might also be him not taking shots he needs to be taking. Whatever it is, he had a below average 13 games with the Wolves, a C is a perfect grade for him.
