4. March 24th at Los Angeles Lakers

This game occurred after the Minnesota Timberwolves’ season had already slipped away as it ended up being their fifth loss in a six-game losing streak.

It was an extremely painful loss due to the nature of the game and the opponent it happened against.

The Lakers were not a good team and the Timberwolves’ knew it which is why they let their guard down.

Minnesota led for 39 minutes and 17 seconds in this game and built a huge lead at half time, 67-54. Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns carried the scoring load in that first half as Wiggins dropped 12 quick first quarter points and Towns matched his 12 points in the second quarter.

Even though Minnesota didn’t score for the final 4:08 of the third quarter they still held an 88-80 lead going into the fourth.

After a Tyus Jones bucket in the fourth, the Wolves held a ten point lead with 11:25 left to play.

The Lakers then went on a furious run and tied the game at 93 with 7:34 remaining in the game.

The Wolves pushed forward from there, regaining the lead and building it to six points with 3:48 remaining, 106-100.

Minnesota struggled to close the game from there as they were outscored 30-13 over the final 8:48 of regulation and overtime, eventually losing to the Lakers 130-119.
