2. January 15th at Dallas Mavericks

On January 15th the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Dallas Mavericks 87-98 at the American Airlines Center.

The way this game went down wasn’t necessarily disappointing as the Mavericks led the majority of the game and there wasn’t a dramatic finish.

When this game happened, is the most disappointing aspect. It came while the Timberwolves were playing some of their best basketball of the season and trying to make a push to get back into the playoff conversation.

Minnesota came to Dallas having won three straight games, including back to back double-digit victories against the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Right when the Timberwolves looked to be living up to their potential, it all came crashing down with one loss.

Even though this loss didn’t break their season, it was still difficult to swallow.

The Timberwolves lost their next game against the Spurs but rebounded with a victory over the Clippers.

They ended up finishing January winning eight of their final 11 games but this would have been a game that could have tremendously boosted the momentum they had going.
