4. November 30th vs New York Knicks

Andrew Wiggins does not stand alone atop the Timberwolves’ list for most points scored in a single game this season.

Karl-Anthony Towns also dropped 47 points, doing it on November 30th against the New York Knicks.

Timberwolves fans were extremely lucky this season to have seen both of these games at the Target Center, in fact, most of the games on this list came in front of the home crowd.

This 47 point game ended up coming in a loss to the Knicks but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. It is actually higher on the list considering how Karl-Anthony Towns accomplished his mission.

As a big man, at any level in basketball, you are very dependent on your teammates to get you the ball in a scoring position. Most big men, Towns included, do not bring the ball up the court and dribble into scoring position.

Instead, he has to work hard off the ball and trust that the guards will get him the ball in an effective scoring position.

Even though Towns missed all three of his three-point attempts, he finished the night 15/22 shooting and also grabbed 18 rebounds in the game.

In an era where the scoring big men have disappeared a bit, it was nice to see Towns bring that back to life this season.
