3. December 28th at Denver Nuggets

This was another historic night for Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Towns dropped his first ever triple-double in a 103-105 loss at the Pepsi Center in Denver. He recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists.

I have no idea what got into Towns on this night. Never before in his career had he racked up ten assists in a game.

Towns’ previous career-high in assists came back on April 3rd, 2016 against the Dallas Mavericks when he recorded nine.

Towns reaching double figures in points and rebounds is hardly worth noting. He tied for second in the NBA this season with 62 double-doubles. By Town’s standards, this was a below average scoring and rebounding game for him.

By Town’s standards, this was a well below average game in terms of scoring and rebounding the basketball.

However, for a man who finished the season averaging only 2.7 assists per game, the passing is what elevates this performance to the third best Minnesota Timberwolves’ game this season.
