4. When Wolves Cry

Prince and other members of the Wolves’ faithful have had several reasons to cry over the last 28 seasons.

However, if Prince saw how the Wolves finished the last month of the season, he would need to revise his 1984 smash, “When Doves Cry”.

This season took a turn for the worse when not one but two, key rotation pieces—Zach Lavine and Nemanja Bjelica—were lost for the season.

Prior to those injuries, the Wolves began their ascent to mediocrity in mid-December.

In Thibodeau’s homecoming game against the Bulls, the Wolves came back to beat Chicago on the road for the second straight season.

From the Windy City comeback to Bjelica’s season-ending foot injury, the Wolves played some of their best “eye-test” basketball in years.

They were a respectable 22-20, and had a net rating of 2.5 according to NBA.com’s advanced statistics page.

Unfortunately, the bench lost Belly’s production and versatility and the Wolves dropped 13 of their final 16 games.

This gave the Wolves and their fans something to cry about.
