Pro: Playmaking ability

Markelle Fultz is a natural playmaker and he showed that time and time again at Washington.

Fultz ran a lot of pick and roll action last season, giving him plenty of practice in one of the central plays in the NBA. Through that practice, he showed he can excel in the pick and roll phase of the game as they often resulted in positive outcomes for his team.

His great size gives him the ability to see over defenses and dissect them at will. His good handles allow him to navigate the lane and give him the opportunities to create for himself and others.

Fultz’ ability to shoot the ball adds another dimension off the pick and rolls. Defenders aren’t able to sag off him as he can make them pay with a pull-up jumper.

He is also a creative finisher as he can go into his bag of tricks time and time again without having to repeat moves.

He loves to go to his spin move which is super fluid and might remind you of Andrew Wiggins.

A Fultz and Karl-Anthony Towns pick and roll combination would be one of the deadliest in the league. It would give the pair a ton of options to run such as a Fultz jumper or attack or a Towns roll or pop for an outside shot. The options are endless.

Fultz is also big enough where he could play alongside Ricky Rubio. This would be key because it would take away some of the playmaking responsibilities from Rubio alone.

If the Minnesota Timberwolves do decide to move Rubio after drafting Fultz, he is polished enough to be able to take over full-time playmaking responsibilities.
