Pro: Shooting

Markelle Fultz showed that he can be a deadly outside shooter. He knocked down 41.3 percent of his 3-point attempts while taking five 3’s on average.

This was a huge step up from his high school days and, if sustainable, would be a valuable commodity to the Timberwolves.

He even demonstrated his ability to step out to NBA range at Washington.

Given that Fultz can play two positions, he would be able to bring his shooting ability to Minnesota at either the point guard or shooting guard spots.

Point guard is where Fultz would have the most success, considering he would be able to shoot over his defender easier.

I think everyone can agree that the Timberwolves are in dire need of shooting. By acquiring a player who can help them stretch the floor, it would be a huge win-win for the team and Fultz individually.

While off the ball, he would be able to help keep the driving and post-up lanes open for Towns and Wiggins.

This is incredibly important because it wouldn’t allow defenses to collapse as frequently and force all of their attention on the two star Wolves.

It would also give Fultz more room to operate from the perimeter because his defender will certainly try to help to degree.

This will allow Fultz some time and separation to knock down perimeter jumpers and build his confidence in his outside shooting ability.
