Pro: Malik Monk is a versatile and dangerous scorer.

Malik Monk is a confident shooter. He averaged a total of 2.7 made 3-pointers per game, including a game where he managed to knock down an insane eight 3-pointers.

Monk’s impact would be felt immediately on the Timberwolves, who were last in 3-pointers made per game last season.

Due to the respect defenses show by closing out on his jump shot, Monk gains opportunities to attack the rim. He may be on the smaller size, but his athleticism allows him the ability to explode.

He is capable of scoring in many ways, but the most impressive may be his ability to score without the ball. He’s great at using his quickness to lose his defender off screens.

Monk is very good at shooting off the screen because oh how quickly he can rise to get off his jumper. That will translate to the NBA well, giving Monk the ability to get off his shot quickly.

Monks ability to shoot will force defenses to press up on him, which will give him the ability to utilize his athleticism and explode at the rim.

The Minnesota Timberwolves were 30th in the NBA in bench scoring. They don’t have a consistent offensive threat to come off their bench. Monk can be the solution to this problem.

Monk was great in Kentucky at creating his own shot. He was well-known for his trademark step back and his ability to use fakes to create space.

There are few players whom you can give a basketball and say “go get me a bucket.” Monk has the ability and skill set to be that person.

Malik Monk is an elite scorer who can produce in many ways. His confidence and deep range threat may be the spark that the Minnesota Timberwolves so desperately need off their bench.
