8. Tyus Jones

Minnesota Native and standout at Duke, Tyus Jones comes in at number eight on the list. The second-year point guard got plenty of play time for coach Thibs this year to give Kris Dunn a run for his money at times.

The quick and sleek guard was often overmatched at the point position because of his size. Coming in at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds he was often out-muscled down low and blown by on drives to the basket.

A lot of things that Tyus did didn’t show up in the box score. Hustle is what Tyus is built for. He often out hustles his opponents and has to fight harder because of that lack of size. He was often beating defenders in a race to the ball down the court.

Jones averaged 3.5 points per game and dished out 2.6 assists. He surprised some Wolves fans with his clutch shooting late in games and showed at times why he was a first round draft pick two years ago.

If he becomes a more efficient shooter and more tenacious defense he will be a quality back-up for the Wolves for years to come.
