7. Kris Dunn

Kris Dunn was a question mark in the 16-17 season. On defense he was absolutely stellar, showing that he will be a mainstay in this league and on Thibs team because of it. On

On offense, he often had trouble with his jump-shot and decision making with passes.

Unlike Rubio, Dunn’s great size and athleticism meant he could handle bigger point guards off the dribble and in the post. There were plenty of times during the year where Dunn would block a bigger man in the post after leaving his defender and going to swat the ball at the rim.

The biggest encourager Wolves fans can see in Dunn is his upside and hustle. He considers himself a “dog” and it showed why during the year.

If he makes a bigger jump on the offensive side of the ball there should be no reason that he couldn’t lead the Timberwolves to success.

With his stellar defense, he had some shining moments on offense as well.

He had a career-high 16 assists against the Houston Rockets in the final game of the season falling three shy of the Timberwolves franchise record which Ricky Rubio set earlier in the year.

If Dunn can get his jump shot going in his sophomore season with the Wolves there should be no problem of him locking up that second point guard role, possibly even shifting into a starting role if Rubio gets traded.
