Pro: Jonathan Isaac’s defense
Another huge plus for Jonathan Isaac is his defensive prowess.
His per 40 numbers show 2.4 blocks, which is major. He can meet bigs at the rim thanks to his impressive size.
He can also utilize his agility as a help-side defender, providing reasonable backup in the paint. Because he is quick and long, he can collapse on the ball handler when they drive, and still get back out to the wing in the event of a kick out.
Thanks to Isaac’s blend of length and speed, he is an asset on defense, which is perfect for Thibodeau’s Timberwolves.
He is capable of guarding multiple positions. Right away he will be able to at least guard small forward’s. He will be able to handle most power forwards but may struggle with the bigger and stronger ones.
He can also stick with guards, but he will need to become stronger if he wants to become the center of a small ball lineup.
