18. Lorenzo Brown

Lorenzo Brown was chosen with the 52nd pick in the 2013 draft. Brown, being 6-foot-5 at the point guard position showed a lot of upside. His size offered him the ability to see over defenses which is great because he was a crafty playmaker.

In his Junior year at NC State, Brown was sixth in the NCAA with assists per game. He reached that mark by averaging 7.2 per game.

Brown had the ability to be a matchup nightmare in the NBA. Not many point guards have his size and his skill set. He was a quick, big, athletic and unselfish point guard.

Browns upside looked tremendous and once again it seemed as if the Timberwolves could get another steal in the draft.

Though like the other time it seemed as if the Timberwolves got a “steal” Brown turned out to be a complete bust. He only played one season in Minnesota in which he averaged 4.2 points per game.

Brown didn’t even play a regular season game of the 2013-14 campaign seeing as he was waived from the team on October 25, 2013.

Brown bounced around from D-League teams to even oversea teams until he once again found himself on the Timberwolves roster.

Brown made his first start for the Timberwolves on January 31, 2015, because of injuries experienced to the backcourt of the Timberwolves. He finished the game with 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 point.

Brown eventually got moved back to his role on the bench once Ricky Rubio returned from injury.

The Timberwolves aslo eventually signed Brown for the rest of the season, though coming into the next season he was waived on October 24, 2015. So much for Brown being a matchup nightmare.
