15. Chris Richard

During the 2007 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected forward Chris Richard with the 41st pick. Richard was a part of the Florida team that won two straight NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007.

So, the Timberwolves were drafting someone who knew how to win, but could he play at the professional level? With his muscular build and his 7-foot-4 wingspan, Richard seemed as if he could be a low post defensive presence in the NBA.

Richard played 52 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves in which he only averaged 1.9 points per game. Richards skill set did not translate well to the NBA at all.

He didn’t bring an offensive presence to the floor and even though his size and frame could match up with those of the big men in the NBA he was undersized because he was only 6-foot-9. Richard only played one season with Minnesota and did not see NBA action until the 2009-10 season.

Richard then signed with the Chicago Bulls in which he played 18 regular season games. During his time with the Bulls, Richard averaged 2.1 points per game and still had little to no impact on the game.

Richard was eventually waived on June 30, 2010. He hasn’t played a game in the NBA since and most likely never will again.
