The player that many have pegged to go to the Minnesota Timberwolves is Jonathan Isaac. Isaac has arguably the highest ceiling and is arguably the best defensive player in the draft.

Isaac wasn’t utilized very much at Florida State, but when he was used he was effective. Only being used in about 20 percent of the plays, he was able to take what the defense gives him. He shot 50 percent from the field and almost 35 percent from three-point range.

While Isaac isn’t the best offensive player as of yet due to his inability to handle the ball easily and shoot the ball as fluently as other big men in the draft (Markannen), he is really good at defense.

Which is why he is rated so high because he is a really good defender, not to mention his offensive upside.

He’s also very athletic, using his long, 7′-1″ wingspan to block shots and take the ball away from others. Before college, Isaac used to be a guard until hitting a growth spurt late into his high school years. Giving him the ease to guard on the perimeter.

Isaac averaged 1.5 blocks per game and 1.2 steals a game. Isaac can guard any position at any point on the court-giving him the versatility to play anywhere.

If he can figure out his offensive side of the ball, then look out because he may be the best player in this draft once he figures it out.

CBS. com writer Reid Forgrave explains what scouts are saying about Isaac.

"“Needless to say, Isaac’s ceiling has NBA scouts drooling. One scout told me Isaac is the one player in this draft he sees as being in the rarefied air of “freak NBA athletes,” a term the scout reserves for players like LeBron James and Paul George and just a handful of others.”"

He would fit nicely in between Wiggins and Towns as a defensive star. With the Timberwolves lacking defensive help, it’s clear that this is could be a home run pick that helps them into the playoffs.

Check out the above highlights, as they show exactly what kind of player Isaac could be with the Wolves.
