The Trade Back

Minnesota Timberwolves receive: Wilson Chandler, No. 13, No. 49 and No. 51

Denver Nuggets receive: Ricky Rubio & No. 7 overall Pick

I wrote about this trade in a previous article now it’s modified and slightly better.

Minnesota should really jump all over this, with a young squad adding a vet like Wilson is a huge upgrade.

Sliding Chandler in as the sixth man would give the Timberwolves a scoring punch off the bench while adding a veteran presence that is needed.

Chandler also brings defense as well as a veteran presence to Minnesota something that has been lacking.

Minnesota also gets to stay in the first round lottery and can take a player like Justin Patton or Bam Adebayo.

They also get two second-round picks to help build up a bench that was terrible last year.

Minnesota could grab a Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey both from Oregon who know how to get points on the board.

As for the Nuggets getting Rubio would allow them to move on from Emmanuel Mudiay and the number seven pick is more enticing than 13.

Denver could call the Pacers with an offer of Mudiay, Faried and the seventh pick for Paul George.

Or Denver could keep both Rubio and Mudiay and enjoy the opportunity to select a player like Jayson Tatum.

Tatum could come in a replace both Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler with ease. The opportunities would be endless.

A Rubio, Jamal Murray, Tatum, Faried, Jokic line up could really strike fear in some teams heart.
