Minnesota Timberwolves get: Kevin Love

Cleveland Cavaliers get: Ricky Rubio and Gorgui Dieng

Yes, Love back to Minnesota isn’t out of the wildest dreams. So if this trade were to happen, hopefully, you didn’t join in on the Kevin Love jersey burnings.

What is something we heard all season long from Lebron James? “We need a play-maker”. What better way to add a play-maker then one of the best in Ricky Rubio.

A Bleacher Report article posted by Kristopher Knox was posted around the time of the trade deadline. It was pointed out that when the Timberwolves were shopping Rubio, the Cavaliers were interested. It was in the works for Iman Shumpert but was never fully completed.

"“If the Cavs are dealing with Minnesota, that point guard could possibly be Ricky Rubio.”"

Would the Cavaliers still like to revisit a trade for Rubio? It would add a playmaker, defensive stud, and help to possibly keep Lebron happy and stay in Cleveland. As it has been rumored he has been thinking of leaving Cleveland again for an LA team.

Gorgui Dieng would be a good help for the team, as they would be adding a solid defensive player and the king of the little things. He would help out the bench, if not being a starter. Two great players for one could help bolster the already talented Cavaliers.

As for Love, it has been seen that he is the odd man out in that mold of the big three. He has struggled there, only averaging 16 points a game and 9 rebounds. Whereas in Minnesota, he averaged 24 points a game and 12 rebounds.

While the Wolves have a lot more talent and would likely decrease his numbers from the last time he was in Minnesota. It would create the possibility of a career resurgence, as he has seen a lot of success in Minnesota.

Not to mention the Wolves have desperately been looking for a stretch four ever since his departure. He would help out the team in that department right away. He has always been a good 3-point shooter-averaging 36 percent over his career.

Love found out what it takes to win, and will be a good voice in the locker room gaining a lot of knowledge from James.
