Minnesota Timberwolves 5 Potential draft day trades
Minnesota Timberwolves get: Trevor Ariza and 2017 43rd pick
Houston Rockets get: Ricky Rubio
Again, what do the Timberwolves desperately need? the answer is still the same, 3-point shooting and defense. What can Ariza do? Shoots three’s and play’s good defense.
He has a career average from deep at 35 percent. He shoot’s a lot of three’s so maintaining a 35 percent is really good. Especially if you consider how many three’s the Houston Rockets shoot. Don’t know how many? They passed the all-time record for three’s made. Surpassing the 2015-2016 Golden State Warriors record.
He’s a veteran player who understands’s the game. He’s been in the league for 13 years now, which would be a great veteran voice for the young Wolves stars.
He even has averaged 1.5 steals over that 13-year span. With the Timberwolves already lacking depth behind Wiggins and Lavine; Ariza would be a great present for the team. Not to mention that Shabazz Muhammad may be leaving this free agency.
Ariza would be a great addition seeing as he everything the Wolves need – 3-point shooting, defense, and veteran leadership.]
The Rockets would be getting a young defensive playmaker that would help out the team. He could be a great addition, helping James Harden run the team. Possibly pushing Houston to the next level.
With the Rockets shopping point guard Patrick Beverly – Rubio would be a nice upgrade. If the Rockets do find a trade partner for Beverly, look to see the Rockets targeting Rubio.
