Minnesota Timberwolves get: Jimmy Butler

New York Knicks get: Ricky Rubio and #7 2017 Draft pick

Chicago Bulls get: Carmelo Anthony and #8 2017 Draft pick

It’s a win-win for everyone here. But let’s take an in-depth look at why each team should do this trade.

Stop me if you heard this one before. The Minnesota Timberwolves are again looking to trade for All-Star player Jimmy Butler. It’s no surprise that Head Coach Tom Thibodeau would like to reunite with his former player.

The trade rumors have been wild two days before the draft. Can you imagine how hard the Timberwolves front office will be pushing for Butler on Thursday? It was a lot on draft night last year, but the Wolves were too hesitant to give away budding star Zach LaVine.

Look to see the Wolves add a player who knows the Thibodeau system, is a good leader, can play great defense and can shoot the ball. It would easily help the team sling themselves in the playoffs. Adding the Knicks allow’s Minnesota to help bring Chicago assets without giving as much on their end.

For the Chicago Bulls, they would be getting rid of Butler, who is constantly swarming the trade rumors. Not only that but a chance to rebuild. They would be adding another asset for a rebuild, with the eight pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Not only do they get to blow everything up, they get to add Carmelo Anthony. Someone the Bulls have looked at for years, and with Wade opting in to stay in Chicago-it would add good chemistry and keeping Wade happy with Melo in the Windy City.

ESPN’s Nick Friedell reported  about Wade’s decision to stay:

"“Dwyane Wade has informed the Bulls that he will pick up his $23.8 million player option for next season.”"

For the Knicks, they get a lot freed up cap space. Carmelo Anthony will make around $24 million a year. That is money that the Knicks can use to sign a big Free Agent. The Knicks are looking to rebuild after a rollercoaster-like season.

Not to mention the Carmelo Anthony drama, giving each party a fresh start.

Not only do the Knicks get cap relief for a rebuild, but they will be adding the seventh pick. a young star in this year’s draft class could go a long ways as it is a very deep class. The Knicks need a restructure, and adding the seventh pick is a good place to start.

Whether or not the Knicks decide to trade Kristaps Porzingis; the Knicks will be set up for the future. Either they keep the future star in Porzingis, or they trade him for a lot of valuable assets in the future.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports Kristaps Porzingis may be on his way out.

Every team wins in this situation, as it is everything each team is looking forward.
