One Thumbs Down

Minnesota had an amazing draft night like I mentioned, maybe one of the best drafts night in the history of the team.

Stealing Jimmy Butler away while still retaining a first round draft pick in a loaded draft got them an A in most people draft grades.

I can’t really find a flaw besides losing a growing star in Zach LaVine but let’s face it coming off an ACL injury isn’t easy to recover from.

Though I still believe LaVine will bounce back better than ever and truly give Chicago fans something to cheer for.

So what is the thumbs down you ask? it comes with the fact that this was such a loaded draft it’s sad that Minnesota didn’t find a way back into the second round.

Loaded Second Round

We heard names like Frank Jackson, Frank Mason, Jordan Bell and Dwayne Bacon all who would have gone in the first round of last year’s draft.

The name that I heard that I prayed Minnesota would move back into the draft for was Tyler Dorsey.

A 6-foot-4 sophomore shooting guard out of Oregon who averaged 14.6 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field.

The reason I wanted Dorsey for Minnesota was what he can do from deep.

At Oregon, Dorsey shot a terrific 42.3 percent from deep and no it wasn’t a fluke because his freshmen year we saw him shoot 40.6 percent.

Minnesota struggled on defense and from the 3-point line, but we added Butler to help on defense.

I wish we could have added Dorsey to help on the three-point side of the game.

As a result, now we have to wait and see if Thibodeau can get shooters in free agency.
