4. We already have a full front-court

Even if Tom Thibodeau does decide to keep his style with two bigs, our front-court is already crowded.

Patton joins the aforementioned Towns, along with Gorgui Dieng and Cole Aldrich in the lineup of bigs who will demand minutes. Last offseason, Dieng and Aldrich were signed to large contracts and will be hard to move from.

In a market with many teams selling bigs and nobody buying them, it is unlikely that we will be able to move away from them to give Patton minutes.

This is without mentioning the power-forwards like Nemanja Bjelica who can take minutes next to a center. Whilst Patton is more than likely seen as a project, we need immediate help.
