Karl-Anthony Towns is the next Kevin Garnett.
There’s been Kevin Garnett. Superstar. Intensity. Versatility. MVP.
Garnett was everything for the Minnesota Timberwolves during his time there. Probably the greatest wolf ever but he won his lone championship with the Boston Celtics.
Minnesota has yet to win a championship under the Timberwolves era. A lot of people believe Garnett couldn’t win a ring in Minnesota. But now, we have the second coming of KG with Karl-Anthony Towns.
KAT is a once in a generational talent. He is a big man who can shoot the ball, handle, score down on the block, defend, and make plays for others. He is still very young. Coming off a year where KAT averaged 25.1 points per game, 12.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, he is poised fo a big third season.

Just like Garnett, KAT is a very versatile big.
During KG’s third year, he averaged 18.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
One thing KAT had over KG is the 3-point shooting. Towns shot 36.7 percent from the the great beyond while Garnett only shot 18.8 percent.
Garnett’s best offensive season scoring-wise was an average of 24.2, which Towns has already passed.
KAT can also score in a vary of ways which is rare for a young big man. Big men usually take a while to develop in the NBA, having to get used to the physicality of the game, developing a fluid offensive repertoire. KAT already came into the NBA already offensively gifted but he was not a big time scorer in college only averaging 10.3 points.
He was looked upon as more of a defensive player and make an immediate impact on the defensive end just like his predecessor. Garnett won his first and only Defensive Player of the Year in his first season in Boston and won MVP in the 2003-2004 season. KAT has DPOY and MVP potential.
Towns was left off the All-NBA team which was probably a snub but it had to do with Minnesota’s record and also not having a lot of buzz around their franchise and not having a lot of television time.

KAT won’t be left off any NBA teams once people notice how good he is. He can eventually become the greatest player in the Timberwolves history. Just sit back and watch.
