Minnesota Timberwolves: Five Goals for Jeff Teague
2. Make his second All-Star appearance.
In case you didn’t know Jeff Teague is a former all-star. He will be in a perfect situation next year to possibly make a case for another all-star appearance.
In his lone all-star season, Teague averaged 15.9 points per game and 7.0 assists per game. In that season he averaged 30 minutes played per game, and one can imagine he will be around that same kind of usage under Thibodeau.
Teague had some decent weapons to spread the ball out to in Atlanta that season, but nothing compared to what he will be working with in Minnesota. Teague getting the ball to Wiggins, Butler, and Towns should allow him to rack up the assist totals this year.
With more minutes per game and better scoring options, Jeff Teague could see career best numbers in a few different categories. Depending on how well the team adjusts to its new personnel additions, the Timberwolves could make a case for multiple All-Stars.
Let’s hope Minnesota can get another All-Star, in general, this year considering it’s been awhile.
The last time the Minnesota Timberwolves had more than one all-star in a game was the 2003-2004 season with Sam Cassell and Kevin Garnett making the West roster.
This year could mark at least one all-star appearance by a Timberwolves player, and Jeff Teague could be one of those players. Most people would bet it will more likely be some combination of KAT, Butler, or Wiggins but you never know.
A good goal for Teague would be to make an all-star appearance in his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He could very well pull it off.
