Minnesota Timberwolves: Ranking the contracts
6. Nemanja Bjelica
Signed Contract: 3-year/11,700,000
This is hard one to decide on because you never know what you’ll get from the former Euro League MVP. But, at $3 million plus, it’s hard to say that it’s a bad contract. Bjelica gives Minnesota the stretch four option in their lineup – something they have missed since the Kevin Love days.
If you get him on a night where he scores three points on 1-7 shooting , then you really question why he’s on the team. But, if you can get him to play like he did at the end of the season, then that three million seems like a gem.
In the month of March before sustaining a foot injury, the 29-year old averaged: 8.9 points, 7 rebounds, and shot it 33 percent from deep. It seems to be a confidence thing with Bjelica. When he is finding his stride and getting minutes, he plays at a high level. But when he struggles, he finds himself in the dark for a better part of a month.
If he can build upon his post all-star break run, then the Timberwolves will value a team friendly $3 million deal.
