Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 Goals For Tyus Jones
Control the Controllable
Jones has no control over his height at 6′-2” and not much control over his lack of athleticism and speed. Sure, he can do speed training drills and agility drills but how much does that actually help?
Jones, however, has the ability to control what can be controlled to improve his game moving forward. It wouldn’t hurt for Jones to add some muscle to add onto his 195-pound body. Lower body workouts will help his speed a little bit, mostly so by strengthening his hamstrings.
Even still this wont make him Flash by any means. But you better believe that for a player in Jones’s shoes that every little bit will help. He can control the amount of hours he spends in the gym, watching film, building chemistry with teammates, and all the other tangibles some fans don’t realize are necessary for success.

What cannot be controlled can be made up for by achieving the other four goals. Jones is entering a larger role this season as the only other point guard on the roster. He needs to be prepared to take on the larger role and improve day in and day out in order to help the Wolves find success.
