This one may come as a surprise — mainly because of the strong distaste that many feel for the man, but Christian Laettner was actually a pretty solid player for the Timberwolves during his four seasons with the team.

If you were to look at the stats and not the name, who wouldn’t want a rookie who averages 18.2 points to go with 8.7 rebounds per contest? Not to mention he shot 47.4 percent from the floor.

As a matter of fact, Laettner ranks fourth all-time in Timberwolves history for rebounds with 2,225. Although he never quite lived up to the numbers he put up in his rookie campaign, Laettner managed to average 8.6, 7.6 and 6.9 rebounds per game during his other three seasons in Minnesota.

Laettner went on to have a successful career, playing 13 total seasons for five teams, including making the 1997 Eastern Conference All-Star team as a member of the Atlanta Hawks.
