Most Timberwolves fans will never forget his unorthodox shot.

The Rick Adelman mainstay joined the Timberwolves in the 2013-2014 season and continued to launch threes as he had for much of his career.

After playing under Adelman in Sacramento and Houston, the Timberwolves added Martin to what would become one of the better offensive units in franchise history.

In his first season in Minnesota, K-Mart averaged 19.1 points per game to go along with his team leading 38.7 three-point percentage. The Timberwolves ended up going 40-42 — their best record in the last decade.

His first season almost coincided with the Timberwolves ending their playoff drought. The Timberwolves had the 10th-best point differential in the NBA that season, and would often blow teams out or lose games by just a few points.

As a fan, watching Kevin Martin was a big part of the Timberwolves offensive explosion that season because of his ability to shoot from deep.

The following year, Kevin Love was traded to Cleveland and the team’s record dipped considerably. One ray of light was Kevin Martin leading the team in three-point percentage again, shooting 39.3 percent from deep in his second season in Minnesota.

K-Mart was one of the best three-point shooters the Timberwolves have ever seen because of his consistency and range. His quick release was deadly if left open and he was fun to watch in Minnesota.
