1. Become a Double-Double Machine!

Dieng is a very capable rebounder.

He was the second leading rebounder on the team last season but there is a big gap between him and Towns’ rebound averages. Towns lead the team with 12.3 while Dieng was at 7.9. The Wolves were 25th in rebounding last season, only averaging 42.4 per game.

The key to winning championships is to be a strong defensive team and being a strong defensive team comes with closing out a defensive stop with rebounds. Dieng needs to up his rebounding to about 10 per game. Him, Towns and Gibson would be asked to take up most of the rebounding responsibility.

During his time at Louisville, he led the Big East in total rebounds with 363 in the 2011-12 season and was second the following year with 310. He also ranked first in total blocks and blocks per game during the 2011-12 season in the Big East and third in the entire NCAA with a total of 128, equaling out to 3.2 per game.

Dieng needs to get back to that “go and get that ball” rebounding mentality. The opportunity is there to become one of the top rebounders not only on his team, but in the NBA and if Dieng wants to win a championship in this league like he did in college, he will get back to that rebounding.

Dieng is a very good player this league and if he follows these steps, he will not only help his own game but also help better the Wolves’ championship hopes.
