2017-18 Season Outlook: The optimist, pessimist, and realist

The Minnesota Timberwolves upcoming season may be the most anticipated campaign in franchise history. Let’s take a look at a few different perspectives fans might have as we head into the new year.
After acquiring critically acclaimed coach Tom Thibodeau, star wing Jimmy Butler, and overhauling the roster in about a year, the Minnesota Timberwolves are squarely facing expectations that haven’t been thrust upon them in the history of the organization.
The anticipation from the basketball world as to what this team might become has set the fan base into a frenzy. The prospect of having a competitive NBA team after years of futile on-court production and empty arena seats has Wolves’ fans spinning with excitement and anxiety.
There are fans that are basking in the positive attention their team is finally getting and setting high expectations as to what this team will become next season. There are also supporters who cannot help but think about the things that will inevitably go wrong and send this year off the tracks of success. Then, there are Timberwolves faithful who are caught in the middle, understanding the roller coaster ride that is an NBA season and realizing there will be a mixed bag of brilliance and frustration throughout the year.
