The Minnesota Timberwolves have stuffed this offseason full
The Minnesota Timberwolves have had a busy offseason. They have spread their events evenly throughout the summer to keep fans interest.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have done a tremendous job of exciting a fan base that has struggled to support the team in recent seasons.
It all began on April 11. That was the last home game for the 2016-17 season. The Wolves’ brass built up excitement around the release of a new logo and color scheme.
While the logo received a lukewarm reaction from the fans, one thing was clear; Minnesota had just set the tone for the rest of the summer.
As the attention turned to the playoffs and the historic Golden State Warriors run, Tom Thibodeau and co. bided their time. They did their homework and determined their plan of attack once the offseason officially began.
The rebuild was jump-started with a blockbuster trade on the night of the NBA Draft. Thibodeau agreed to send Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen to the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton.

That move immediately peaked fans’ interest. They began to realize the legit potential Minnesota has going into next season.
Eight days later, one of the most enigmatic players in franchise history was traded to a division rival for a protected first-round draft pick. That left a major void and ensured that the Wolves were far from done this summer.
On July 10, Thibodeau signed two new starters to the roster; Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson. These players brought a wealth of experience with them and immediately filled major holes on the roster.
Then, on July 19, Jamal Crawford was signed to a two-year deal. The former Sixth Man of the Year shored up their bench and continued to build the hype surrounding the team.
When Summer League wrapped up on July 17 there was a bit of a down period. As Minnesota searched for players to fill out their roster, the dead period grew. That didn’t last long, however, as they soon revealed their new jerseys.
On Aug. 10, Minnesota unveiled their new jerseys to the world. Well, only two of them:
The Icon edition (blue) and the association edition (white) will be the main jerseys the Timberwolves use throughout the season. However, they have two more designs that will be used as well. Those will be announced at a date that’s yet to be determined.
Minnesota will also announce a new court design.

Between these two events, it’s sure to capture fans attention until preseason starts in early October. With the season starting earlier than usual this year (Oct. 17) Minnesota will sustain the momentum that was started in early April.
