5 key games for the Timberwolves this season
By Ali Siddiqui
#4 – October 20 vs. Utah
In the home opener, the Wolves will play at newly-renovated Target Center for the first time, and it will come against a familiar face.
Ricky Rubio will be making his return to Minnesota. After six seasons, the former first round draft pick was traded to the Jazz this off-season.
Rubio isn’t known for his shooting, of course, but certainly was a fan favorite for his dazzling passes. It seems highly likely that he’ll get a nice ovation from the fans. Sure, some fans hated to see Rubio go, and some were happy about it. But considering that he did not force his way out, it will be a shock if he gets booed.
The Jazz were a playoff team last season and could very well be again, but with the loss of Gordon Hayward, the Wolves have a great shot at passing them.
