The Minnesota Timberwolves are officially one step closer to the beginning of the 2017-18 NBA Season.

We know now where the Minnesota Timberwolves will be on Sep. 22 and where they are going afterwards.

On Friday, they announced they will hold their initial media day on Sep. 22 before heading to San Diego for training camp.

At the conclusion of training camp they will play their first exhibition game on Sep. 30 against the Los Angeles Lakers. They will then play the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 5 and 8 in Shanghai, China.

Camp starts earlier than usual this season due to the premature start of the NBA season:

The season starts earlier to help spread out the games. Gone are the years where squads would play four games in five nights. Now we are in the era of rest and even scheduling.

One bit of information that was missed in the hoopla of workouts was Kirk Hinrich. Darren Wolfson reports he was spotted at Mayo Clinic Square on Thursday:

On the National scene, Adam Fromal of Bleacher report projected the top five breakout players at every position. Naturally, he put Andrew Wiggins at the top of his small forward list.

As for Dunking With Wolves, we were busy yesterday. Cooper Langy looks at which Wolves’ player Minnesota can least afford to lose.

Christian Anton also gives his reaction and analysis to the training camp release dates.

Finally, Ben Beecken takes a looksy at the all important backup point guard position. He evaluates whether Tyus Jones is ready to take on a much larger role for a potential playoff team.
