4. Donyell Marshall to Golden State for Tom Gugliotta.

Months after being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 1994 draft, Donyell Marshall was moved to the Golden State Warriors for the fourth year player out of North Carolina State University, Tom Gugliotta.

Marshall looked impressive throughout his first 40 games with the Wolves. He averaged 10.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest. After improving those numbers the rest of the season with the Warriors, he saw a steep decline the following two years.

In both the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons, he averaged fewer than 7.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He did bounce back later in his career, but never had the same type of impact Gugliotta did throughout his time in Minnesota.

Googs, as he was known, played three plus years with the Wolves and averaged 18.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Those were all higher than his career averages and higher than any other team he played on (besides his rebounding average with the Washington Bullets).

He also made his first and only All-Star game in 1996-97 by racking up 20.6 points and 8.7 boards per game. He was really beginning to thrive before injuries and a life-threatening seizure cost him time on the court. After that season, he never played more than 57 games in any one year.
