Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 takeaways from media day
It was an exciting day for the Minnesota Timberwolves, as players and coaches made their way to the Mayo Clinic Square for media day. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from this event.
Friday marked the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2017-18 media day. That meant Minnesota was able to see the new look Timberwolves speak out about the upcoming season. Every player came out, including some of the camp bodies such as Melo Trimble, and Amile Jefferson.
It was a great way to hear what players have done over the course of the offseason to get ready for this upcoming season. It was also a great way for fans to see the team in their new jerseys.
This will get everyone excited; here’s the new big three:
Some big notes that did not make the five takeaways was an update on the Nemanja Bjelica and Justin Patton injury.
When talking about the rookie Patton, Thib’s said:
"Justin is not quite there yet, he hasn’t done anything."
This means that he still isn’t able to do any non-contact work yet. Bad news to hear, but it looks as if he may be spending a lot of time in the G-League playing for the Iowa Wolves. He did mention that he is open to playing for either Iowa or Minnesota.

Bjelica is healing quite well actually. He said that he is going to be engaging in contact play pretty soon. He didn’t say whether or not he will be ready by the start of the regular season, but did note that he is “optimistic” he’ll be ready. He did claim that it is too early to tell whether or not he will be playing in the preseason. Don’t get your hopes up, odds are Minnesota plays it safe for the long season ahead.
It’s still a breath of fresh air to hear that he is almost 100 percent. Either way, media day means the start of the NBA season is right around the corner. So, without any further or do, here is five takeaways from today’s event.
