1. His family are athletes

It is usually common that one of sports stars parents are athletic, but both? That’s the Wiggins household.

The small forward’s parents are Mitchell and Marita Payne-Wiggins, two individuals who succeeded in their own sporting fields.

The former, Mitchell, was picked 23rd in the 1983 draft and played for three different teams during his professional career.

Those teams in question were the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers.

His mother, Marita, was also extremely successful in her athletics career, securing two silver medals (4×400 and 4×100 relays) for Canada during the 1984 Olympics.

Not only that, but she also managed to win gold (4×400) during the 1986 Commonwealth games.

Can Wiggins win an NBA ring and eclipse this parents’ success? Every person in Minneapolis will be wanting such a point to come to fruition.

Regardless, he is ready to part of what could the breakthrough of Tom Thibodeau’s Timberwolves team into the playoffs.
