Minnesota Timberwolves: Best and worst case scenario for Jimmy Butler
Coming into his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jimmy Butler is looking to make an immediate impact that will take the Wolves to the playoffs. Here are his best and worst case scenarios as he looks to do so.
New year, new team, same Jimmy Butler? That is what the Minnesota Timberwolves had in mind when they acquired the defensive menace from the Chicago Bulls on draft night. In all honesty, Butler shouldn’t be the same this season, in fact, he should be better.
Look at the talent that surrounds him. He has the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague just to name a few of his new teammates. The talent he is surrounded by this year is undoubtedly much better than what he had in Chicago the past couple of seasons.
Even playing on a team who lacked talent, Butler was still able to appear in the All-Star game for the past three seasons. Also in the past three seasons, Butler has seen his points per game increase as well as his assists and rebounds per game. This shows his value to any team he is on. And besides, playing with more talent will only benefit him more in these categories.

If you watch Butler play it is clear he is all over the place on the court, in a good way of course. Having more help around him will hopefully take some of the load off of him in terms of defense and scoring. Although, he will still be looked upon to do both when it comes down to it.
There is always a chance that chemistry isn’t found right away. Playing with new guys may be difficult to adjust to for Butler which may hurt his performance. This isn’t an unlikely scenario however, I don’t foresee that happening to the extreme. On that note, I look into Butlers best and worst case scenarios for this season.
