Major Key for Golden State: Limit the Turnovers

You wouldn’t think with a team of All-Star player’s that they would constantly be turning the ball over. But, they do indeed turn it over quite a bit.

In the game they played against Minnesota this past Thursday morning, they turned the ball over 19 times. In their first preseason game against the Denver Nuggets, they had 14 turnovers. Now for most teams that would be a big problem. But, unlike any other team, the Warriors are practically unstoppable offensively.

However, even though it’s preseason, it is something to keep an eye on. The Warriors are yet to win a game this preseason. Last season, in almost all their games that they lost, they had over 16 turnovers.  Some of them even reaching over 20 turnovers.

Minnesota has done a better job defensively, which has caused the Warriors to lose the ball a little more. Now that they have more veterans and scoring options, they have found ways to score off the turnovers. In the last game they played, Minnesota was able to score 11 points. Not the best number, but it can lead to bigger problems for Golden State

Teams are getting stronger in the west, and we all know that Minnesota is one of them. Giving the ball to the Wolves will ultimately cause them to score more points. More points off turnovers can create bigger opportunities to lose games.

While they do win a lot of games, if they can limit the turnovers, they would be even better. If the Warriors want to win Sunday’s game against the Wolves, they need to limit the number of turnovers.
