Verdict

While this might seem like crazy talk, I am gonna give the Minnesota Timberwolves the upper hand over the San Antonio Spurs. The team who normally calls the bottom of the West home will take down the established power in the West due to their strong starting lineup.

Whether Parker or Murray starts at point guard for the Spurs, Teague will have the upper hand in the matchup. He has the scoring and playmaking ability to excel as the floor general of such a talented team.

Butler wins his matchup against nearly anyone, and the battles between him and Leonard will be must-see TV.

All in all, San Antonio just doesn’t have enough good defenders to cover all the Wolves weapons.

Gregg Popovich is the great equalizer here. The talented coach is great at making mid-game adjustments. The chess match between he and Thibs will be another exciting thing to watch.

As good as the coaches are, the players on the floor are the ones who decide the outcome, and Minnesota just has a more talented roster.
