Cole Aldrich’s window for playing time is slowly closing by the day. Here are five goals for him to better position him for playing time.

The former Kansas Jayhawk product, Cole Aldrich, has had an up and down career. In his seven years, he has already played on six teams. Of course, he is now with Minnesota, but his playing time this season may drop significantly with the bevy of talent on the team.

A big draw to him is that he is from Minnesota. Anytime a player comes home to play for his home state, usually gives fans a sense of gratitude towards them. He was born in Burnsville MN and played high school ball for Bloomington Jefferson.

While he may be from Minnesota and have a little spot in some people’s heart for coming back – Aldrich will need to step up his play if he wants to see more time. Last season he saw 8.6 minutes of play, and that was with less talent in the frontcourt.

Now with the addition of Taj Gibson, and a rookie eager to get some playing time in Justin Patton – Aldrich may be seeing his minutes decrease. Patton should spend a lot of time in Iowa playing for the newly purchased Iowa Wolves. But, if he plays great basketball and the Wolves see him worthy of NBA playing time, he may push Aldrich out of the way.

Here are five things that can keep Aldrich’s minutes from decreasing, or even increasing it for that matter.
