4. Rebounding

Aldrich stands at 6-foot-11 and 253 pounds: there is no denying that he has incredible size in the post. For all that size, he was only able to record 2.5 rebounds a game in his 8.6 minutes of play.

There really isn’t much of an excuse for him, because he is really big inside the paint. He should be able to box a lot of his opponents out of the way and grab the rebounds for Minnesota.

Simply, if Aldrich wants to continue to find playing time for the Wolves, he will need to grab more boards. Of course, there are other things that will factor into his playing time, but grabbing rebounds is valuable to the team.

Again, scoring isn’t something that Minnesota will ever look towards Aldrich to do because there are so many options to score the ball. But, you can never have too many rebounders. Winning the battle on the glass could determine whether or not a team wins a game. If you win the offensive rebounding by five or ten boards, that could essentially determine a game. Second chance points are huge, five rebounds alone can at the max get you about 15-points.

Having Dieng and Nemanja Bjelica could possibly alter the opposing team to focus on them on rebounds. This could possibly open up more opportunities for Aldrich to clean up off the glass while the other two are getting boxed out. It will be hard for teams to essentially close out all three players at once if they decide to run all big men at once.
