NBA basketball is officially back in downtown Minneapolis. What a great time to be alive as the Minnesota Timberwolves play their home opener against the Utah Jazz.

If you’re a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, there will be a lot coming at you on the night of Oct. 20 when the Wolves host the Utah Jazz to kick off the home slate of games for the season.

A renovated Target Center will play host to all sorts of new bells and whistles that promise to be aesthetically pleasing to fans flooding through the gates. Many people in the home crowd will have the opportunity to see the new uniforms in person for the first time. The new floor design is sure to capture the attention of many, as the Wolves finally disposed of that ugly two-toned court that hosted an assortment of laughably terrible teams.

Oh yeah, and there is a certain Spaniard who grabbed the hearts of Timberwolves fans for six seasons that is making his return to the city that gave him his NBA opportunity.

Add all of this to the fact that it is a Friday night game kicking off the weekend for the Minnesota community and it promises to be a thoroughly entertaining evening of basketball. Let’s look at the matchups and try to forecast what should be a fun division matchup against the new-look Jazz.
