Player To Watch: Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins is on a roll.

He’s averaging 24.7 points per game, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from downtown.

It looks as if the Timberwolves player that is benefitting most from the Jimmy Butler acquisition is Wiggins. He has looked like a completely different player and has a swagger that I don’t think any of us have seen from him before.

It might not also help the Pacers that Wiggins is also coming off a game-winning shot against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s clear that he has the hot hand for the Timberwolves and they are utilizing his hot hand.

He’s a major piece in the offense and doesn’t look as if he’ll be slowing down anytime soon. Some may say it’s because of the extension, some may say it’s because of Butler but whatever it is he is playing well, and his stellar play is greatly needed and appreciated in Minnesota. The most impressive part about his play is that he’s efficient.

Wiggins is shooting above 40 percent from 3-point land which was considered one of his biggest weaknesses. No longer is it his weaknesses as he’s not only making them, but he’s also shooting them with confidence as well.

The Wolves need that spacing and Wiggins development in his shot is just another development in his game that will prove to many doubters that he was worth the max extension that he received. Wiggins will look to continue his hot role as the Indiana Pacers will attempt to slow him down.

This will be a hard task because he is one of the skilled offensive players in the league. Andrew Wiggins looks to produce once again for the Timberwolves and help lead them to their third win of the season.
