Small Forward: Andrew Wiggins vs. Kevin Durant

This shouldn’t take too long.

Andrew Wiggins is a young player on the rise. He is looking to make sure that the franchise made a good investment when they gave him his five-year, 146.5 million dollar contract extension. He is looking to become the star Minnesota hoped they would get when they sent Kevin Love to Cleveland in exchange for the former number one overall pick.

While that does sound all well and good, Kevin Durant seems to be better than the ceiling of Wiggins.

KD is a four-time scoring champion, seven-time All NBA player, a former NBA MVP, and now a champion with a Finals MVP that came with it. He has basically done everything you set out to do when you join the NBA: win MVP, make it to the Finals and win, walk away with Finals MVP.

One worrying sign from the former Kansas Jayhawk Wiggins is consistency. Many times throughout his career, it seems like he is interested in some games while taking others off. Tuesday night was a prime example. After hitting a game-winner  against the new look Oklahoma City Thunder, he only puts up seven points, four rebounds, and two assists against the rebuilding Indiana Pacers. The Wolves were looking for a spark in that game and Wiggins just didn’t give them anything.

I know I have hardly talked about the Slim Reaper, but that is because we already know what he is and what he does. He is a top 3 player in the NBA and nobody in their right mind thinks Wiggins has any shot of taking that crown from him this year.

Advantage: Kevin Durant
