When Aaron Brooks was brought in by Timberwolves coach and President of Basketball Operations Tom Thibodeau, it seemed that hometown kid Tyus Jones’ position as backup point guard may come under question.

Two weeks into the NBA season and that question is still a valid one.
Jones has garnered the bulk of the backup minutes – with Brooks playing just seven minutes for the season – and hasn’t provided the fans or coaching staff with much in return.
The 2 assists and 1 turnover in his 15 minutes is uncharacteristic, but what is even more concerning is Jones’ 25 percent from the field, and his inability to connect on a single 3-point attempt thus far.
Jones was a negative in the Plus/Minus in each game this week, and made only three buckets for the week.
With Jeff Teague still finding his consistency in his new city, Jones will need to do better when his number is called.
