Minnesota Timberwolves power rankings: There’s a new sheriff in town
6. Nemanja Bjelica (7)
Season averages: 15.5 MPG – 8.3 PPG – 2.3 RPG – 0.2 BPG – 56.7% FG – 58.8% 3PT – 100% FT
Weekly average: 19.2 MPG – 9.3 PPG – 1.7 RPG – 0.3 BPG – 56.3% FG – 50% 3PT – 100% FT
If you expected Nemanja Bjelica to cool off this week, we wouldn’t blame you.
But you would be so very wrong.
His hands stayed flaming hot, converting on exactly 50 percent his 3’s, shooting four per game.
His only poor game for the week, suprisingly, was the win over the Thunder. Bjelica attempted just one 3-pointer on the night (which he hit, obviously) and – like every other bench player that night – the Timberwolves were beaten while he was on the court.
Rebounding is another area that has been concerning in the early part of this season for Bjelica, his first week wasn’t horrible, but his 1.7 boards a game this week wont cut it for Bjelly, even as a stretch four.
Still, Bjelica’s rising minutes per game will bring a smile to every Wolves fans’ face. His impressive shooting is a welcome sight for a team that looks deprived of shooters who can be depended on.
