Minneosta Timberwolves power rankings: KAT remains king of the jungle
2. Jimmy Butler (2)
Season stats: 36.0 MPG – 15.1 PPG – 5.3 RPG – 4.0 APG – 43.3% FG – 31.6% 3PT – 86.1% FT
Weekly stats: 34.2 MPG – 14.0 PPG – 5.0 RPG – 3.3 APG – 40.9% FG – 30% 3PT – 85% FT
The strangest Jimmy Butler season to date rolled on this week, with another low-stat, high-value string of games.
Three of the four games saw Jimmy G. Buckets score under 20 points, but his defensive leadership, willingness to find the open man and ability to score the big shot has him sitting comfortably in the second spot of the weekly power rankings.
The one game that Butler did show out on offense was against the Pelicans in New Orleans, where he posted 23 points on 8-18 shooting, which included the sealer.
This seems to be becoming a trend. Which can be said about the Wolves winning with Butler too, boasting a 7-1 record when the 3x All-Star plays.
With Butler bringing the toughness that has clearly been sorely needed in Minnesota, and even with his shot yet to follow him to the Twin Cities, he has still proven himself already to be the Swiss army knife of the Timberwolves.
