Five Things to Know About Tyus Jones
By Sam Nygaard
While the Minnesota Timberwolves power through the beginning of their season, we continue our series of looking into players’ lives, on and off the court. Tyus Jones is next in the hot seat.
In his third year with the Minnesota Timberwolves’ organization, Tyus Jones has seized the role of backup point guard and will see consistent minutes while playing behind Jeff Teague. Jones will look to build on his productive 2016-2017 campaign and continue to grow as a player while being an essential part of the Timberwolves’ strong bench.
The 21-year old point guard was drafted 24th overall in 2015 by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was traded to the Wolves, and he has quickly become a fan favorite. Jones stands at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, but he doesn’t let his smaller frame get in his way. His ability to run an offense is one of his biggest strengths. He possesses elite decision-making skills and his court vision is unrivaled.
Although most Wolves fans probably know a lot about Jones by now, hopefully, some of these facts will be surprising.
Now, let’s get to know the man in the number one jersey a little better.
