1. Basketball Family

Tyus isn’t the only Jones to play basketball at a high level, virtually his entire family played basketball at some point.

Tyus Jones’ mother, Debbie Jones, won a high school basketball championship in North Dakota and later played at Lake Region State College (ND). His father, Rob Jones, stands at 6’6″ and played basketball for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Jones’ brother, Jadee Jones, played basketball at Forman before transferring back to his home state to play for the Mavericks at Minnesota State-Mankato. His half-brother, Reggie Bunch, was an NAIA All-American at Robert Morris in 2010.

Jones’ extended family also played college basketball at the Division I level. His cousin, Jordan Nunes, played for the University of Minnesota during the 2000s, and his other cousin Jared Nuness played for Valparaiso around the same time.

Now, what if I told you that the best player in the Jones family might still be in high school?

Tyus Jones’ younger brother, Tre Jones, is currently following in his footsteps by starring at Apple Valley. Tre Jones is currently ranked by many scouting services as the best point guard in the class of 2018 and he is a consensus top 10 recruit. There is no guarantee that he will reach the same levels that his older brother reached, but Tre Jones has the potential to be an NBA player.

Tre Jones has already committed to Duke for the 2018 season and he will obviously look to win a national championship for himself while trying to improve his stock for the 2019 draft.
